Microsoft Authentication (SMB)

Microsoft Authentication (SMB)

MS Windows client access to installed queues can be restricted by using the SMB protocol. This method uses users and groups with associated passwords. The list of users and groups can be managed locally or taken from a Windows Domain Controller or Active Directory Server.

MS domain security is a characteristic that allows administrators to authorize or restrict print administration and services to define users and groups by using their existing user name and password of the domain.

A domain is a collection of network servers and other computers that share a security and user account for each user. A user logs on to the domain and not to individual servers in the domain.

Microsoft Authentication settings can be managed by administrators only.
