How to use the ISD300 as Stand-Alone Server? (Local Authentication)

The ISD300 is used as Stand-Alone-Server in the network environment. Users are authenticated against the local user- and group accounts. For further information; see: How to set Local Users and Groups? on page 23.

Proceed as follows:

1.Click SMB printing.

2.Click Change.

3.Select Stand-Alone server.

4.Click Next.

5.Enter a workgroup.

6.Enter the IP address of the WINS server.

7.Click Next.

The Network settings are changed.

How to set Local Users and Groups?

’Local Users and Groups’ is an important security feature because the administrator can limit the ability of users and groups to perform certain actions by assigning them rights and permissions. Local user or group is an account that can grant permissions and rights.

Local users and groups can be managed by the administrators only.
