Using ISD300 as DHCP / DNS Server

The ISD300 comes with an integrated DHCP/DNS server. Compared with dedicated DHCP/DNS servers the ISD300 provides a limited set of features. It is designed for small networks without complex administrative structures.

DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) is an Internet protocol for automating the configuration of computers. DHCP can be used to automatically assign IP addresses, to deliver TCP/IP stack configuration parameters such as the subnet mask and default router, and to provide other configuration information.

DHCP service can be set by administrators only.

Proceed as follows:

1.Click DHCP & DNS.

2.Click Configure DHCP server.

3.Enter the IP address range; see: Parameter Settings - DHCP Server on page 45.

4.Enter the Fixed IP addresses; see: Parameter Settings - DHCP Server on page 45.

5.Enter the DHCP Options; see: Parameter Settings - DHCP Server on page 45.

6.Click Save.
