Troubleshooting issues with interactive features
If you’re experiencingissues with the interactive features of your projector,you can troubleshoott he
followingcommon issues.

Interactive pen function

Beginby checking the connection betweeny ourinteractive projector andyour computer:
lEnsurethat the USB cableis properlyconnectedt o yourc omputer.
lEnsurethat your computer detects the projector.
lEnsurethat the pen’s battery is charged.
lEnsurethat the pen’s greens tatus light is flashing when you pointit at the projectedimage of
yourcomputer’s display (not at the SMARTlogos creen)
Ensurethat you’re pointingt heti pof the penat the projected imageof y ourcomputer’s display (not at
theSMAR Tlogoscreen) andthat nothing is blocking the pen’s optical sensorl ocatedin the tip. The
opticals ensormust be able to "see" the projected imagefor the interactive pen to work.
If somethingis blockingt heprojected image andcreating a shadow on thes urface,t heinteractive
penwon’t work in t heshadow area. When you write on the surface, ensurethat your body doesn’t
createa shadow on the writing area.
Ensurethat Interactivefeatures are On in the on-screendisplay (OSD) menu. See
SMARTSLR40wi settings inthe OSD menu.
Ensurethat the pen is not paired to anotherinteractive projector.You can release penpairing by
followingthe instructions in Adjusting projector settings on page 13.

Pointerbehavior

Yourinteractive pen acts like a mouse device and allows you to interact with your computer. If the
computerconnected to your interactiveprojector has a mouse connectedto it ora track pad,you
mightexperience erraticpointer behavior.U se onemouse device at a time and turn the penoff when
you’renot using it.

Pointeraccuracy

Theaccuracy of t hepen and pointeris basedon the pixel locations of the projectedimage. If your
computermodifies the video signal beforeit goes to the projector, the pointermight not appearwhere
youpress the pen. Try the following steps to resolve the issue:
