What you do next depends upon what you selected in step 2 or 3:

If either Off or Mode1, the machine will return to standby mode.

If either Mode2 or Mode3, proceed to step 5.

5 The LCD now asks if you want to enter a number:

If you want to enter or modify a number, press ENTER and proceed to step 6. Otherwise, press PROGRAM and skip to step 11.

6 Depending on whether you already enter at least one number into the blocked numbers list, the display shows one of the following:

01:_

or 01:555-2971

If you have not entered any numbers in the blocked numbers list, skip to step 8. If not, go on to step 7.

7 If you want to modify an existing entry in the blocked numbers list, press or repeatedly until you see the number you want to modify. Then press

ENTER.

… or …

If you want to enter a new number in an already-started blocked numbers list, press or repeatedly until you find an empty position in the list. Then press ENTER.

8 Use the numeric keypad to enter the last eight characters of a fax number you want to block. For example, if you want to block a fax from someone with a Subscriber ID of 972-555-3038,you should enter 5, 5, 5, -, 3, 0, 3, 8:

01:555-3038_

To change only a specific digit of an entry, press to move to the left or to move to the right until the cursor is under the digit, then use the numeric keypad to enter the correct digit.

Note: You can store up to 30 blocked numbers.

9 Press ENTER to save the setting. The display will show the next “slot” in the blocked numbers list.

If you do not want to enter or change a number for this slot, proceed to step 10. If you do want to enter or change a number for this slot, repeat steps 6–9.

10 Press STOP. The display now asks if you want to print the list.

11 If you do want to print the list, press ENTER.

If you do not want to print it, press STOP and your machine will return to its normal standby mode.

Clearing a number from the blocked numbers list

To clear a number from the list:

1 Press PROGRAM, J, 1, 1.

2 Press ENTER. The LCD shows your fax’s current setting:

If your Block Junk Fax setting is either Mode2 or Mode3, skip to step 4. If not, go on to step 3.

If this is the number you want to clear, skip to step 6.

To clear another number from the blocked numbers list, repeat steps 5–6.

 

If not, go on to step 7.

Press STOP. The LCD now asks if you want to print the blocked numbers list.

If you do want to print the list, press ENTER.

If not, press STOP to return your machine to its normal standby mode.
