Adding detailed information to a service template
Ifyou are using one of th e predefined service templates, you probably
only need to enter your user name and telephone number. If you are
creatinga new service template, you may need to provide additional
information to your ISP or dial-in server. You use the Details dialog
box to add additional information to a selected service te mplate.
Tosele ct a connection type:
1. Tapthe service field.
2. Tap Details.
3. Tapthe Connection type pick list and select one of the following
connection types:
Note: If you are not sure, try PPP; if that doesn’t work, ask your
Internet ServiceProvider or your System Administrator for
the correct connection type.
Idle timeout
TheIdle tim eouts etting definesho wlo ngy ourh andheldc omputer
waits before dropping the connection with your ISP or dial-in server
when you switch out of a TCP/IP application.
Toset the Idle timeout:
1. Tap the Idle timeout pick list and select one of the following
options:
PPP Point-to-Point protocol
SLIP SerialLin e Internet Protocol
CSLIP CompressedSerial Lin e Internet Protocol
