Maintaining Your HandheldComputerThis chapter provides information on the following:

Caring for your handheld computer
Yourhandheld comp uter is designed to be rugged and reliable and to
provideyears of trouble-free service. Please observe the following
general tips when using your handheld computer:
■Takecare not t o scratchth e screen of your handheld computer.
Keep the screen clean. When working with your handheld
computer,use the su pplied stylus or plastic-tipped pens intended
forus ewith a touch-sensitive screen. Never use an actual pen or
pencil or other sharp object on the surface of the screen.
■Your handheld computer is not waterproof and should not be
exposedto rain or moisture. Under extreme conditions, w ater may
enterthe circuitrythrough the front panel buttons.In general, treat
your handheld computer as you would a pocket calculator or
other small electronic instrument.
■Thetouch-sensitive screen ofyour handheld co mputer contains a
glass element. Take care not to drop your handheld computer or
subjectit to any strong impact. Do not carry it in your back pocket:
if you sit on it, the glass may break.
■Protectyour handheld computer from temperature extremes. Do
not leave it on the dashboard of a car on a hot day, and keep it
awayfrom heaters and other heat sources.
■Don ot store or use your handheld computer in any location that
is extremely dusty, damp, or wet.
■Usea soft, damp cloth to clean your handheld computer. If the
surface of the screen becomes soiled, clean it with a soft cloth
moistenedwith a diluted window-cleaningsolution.
