Using the onscreen keyboard

You can open the onscreen keyboard anytime you need to enter text

or numbers on your handheld computer. Note that you cannot enter

Graffiticharacters while using the onscreen keyboard.

To use the onscreen keyboard:

1. Open any application (such as Memo Pad).

2. Tapany record, or tap New.

3. Tap“abc” to o pen the alphabetic keyboard, or tap “123” to open

the numeric keyboard.

4. Tapthe char actersto entertext and numbers.

Note: The onscreen keyboard also includes a dialog box for

internationalcharacters. You canswitchamong the th ree

dialogsat any time to enter the exact text you need.

5. Afteryou finish, tap Done to close the onscreenkeyboard and

placeth e text inth ereco rd.

Using your personal computer keyboard

Ifyouhavealotofdatatoenter,orprefertousethecomputer

keyboard, you can use Palm™ Desktop software, or any supported

PIM,to enter information. You can then perform a Hot Sync®operation

tosynchronize the information on your personalcomputer with the

informationon your handheld c omputer. All the main applications on

yourhand held computer are available in Palm Desktop software and

in most PIMs.

Refer to Palm Desktop online Help for more information on entering

data on your personal computer.
