Try eachof these in turn:
■Make sure HotSync Manager is
running. If HotSync Manager is
running, exit and restart it.
■Make sure you selected Local from the
HotSyncManager menu or the Palm
Desktop software menu.
■Checkthe cable connection between the
cradleand the serial port on your
computer.
■Make surey ousel ectedth e correct
serialport on the Local tab in the Setup
dialog.It should be set to the port where
you connected the cradle.
■Trya lo wer baud rate setting on the
Localtab in the Setup dialog.
■Makesure you a ren ot running another
program,such as America Online,
CompuServe, or WinFax, that uses the
serialpo rt you selected in the Setup
dialogbox.
■Readthe HotSync Log for the user
accountfor which you are performinga
HotSyncoperation.
■Make sure your handheld computer is
seatedinthecradlecorrectly.
■Make sureth e gold-platedconnectors
onthe cradle and your handheld
computerare clean. Use a pencil eraser
to clean them.
