Checking for Heat Damage

Inspect the AFG for signs of abnormal i nternally generated heat such as
discolored printed circuit boards or components, damaged insulation, or
evidence of arcing. If there is damage, do not operate the AFG unt il you
have corrected the problem.

Checking Switches/Jumpers

Verify that the logical address sett ing is set correctly (factory set at 80).
Verify that the bus request level and servan t area settings are correct. See
the Agilent E1445A User’s Manual for information.

Checking the AFG PCAs

Check fuse continuity and inspect all conn ectors for bent pins or damaged
contacts.
Disassembly Use the following proce dur e to di sa sse mble the AFG (see Figure 5-1):
1. Remove the nine T10 Torx screws on the right side pan el.
2. Remove the front panel handles using a T-8 TORX dri ve r.
3. Remove the hex standoffs and washers from the front pa ne l di gital
port connector.
4. Remove the nuts and washers from the front panel B NC’s.
