Instrument State Storage

Usage:

All L4400 Series Instruments

The L4400 series instruments have five storage locations in non- volatile memory numbered 1 through 5 to store instrument states. A sixth location stores the instrument’s power down state which is restored when the instrument is turned back on. You can assign a user- defined name to each of locations 1 through 5.

You can store the instrument state in any of the four locations, but you can only recall a state from a location that contains a previously

stored state.

When shipped from the factory, storage locations 1 through 5 are empty. In addition, the automatic recall mode is disabled

(MEMory:STATe:RECall:AUTO OFF command) and a Factory Reset (*RST command) is issued when power is turned on.

You can name a storage location, but the location is recalled using the location number. The name can contain up to 12 characters. The first character must be a letter (A- Z), but the remaining 11 characters can be letters, numbers (0- 9), or the underscore character (“_”). Blank spaces are not allowed.

A Factory Reset (*RST command) does not affect the configurations stored in memory. Once a state is stored, it remains until it is overwritten or specifically deleted.

The following commands are used to store and recall instrument states.

*SAV {12345} *RCL {12345}

To configure the instrument to automatically recall location 2 when power is restored, send the following commands.

*SAV 2

MEM:STATE:RECALL:SELECT 2 MEM:STATE:RECALL:AUTO ON
