Setting Up WEP

Protecting the Access Point Configuration with User Manager

The access point’s user manager feature prevents unauthorized entry to the access point management system. You create a list of administrators authorized to view and adjust the access point settings; unauthorized users are locked out. See the “Setting Up Administrator Authorization” section on page 8-32for instructions on using the user manager.

Setting Up WEP

Use the AP Radio Data Encryption pages to set up WEP. You also use the AP Radio Data Encryption pages to select authentication types for the access point. The internal radio and the radio module both have an AP Radio Data Encryption page. Both pages contain the same settings. Figure 8-6shows the AP Radio Data Encryption page.

Follow this link path to reach the AP Radio Data Encryption page:

1.On the Summary Status page, click Setup.

2.On the Setup page, click Security.

3.On the Security Setup page, click Radio Data Encryption (WEP) for the internal radio or the radio module.
