4Disconnect your computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets, slide and hold the battery-bay latch release on the bottom of the computer, and then lift the battery from the bay.

5Press the power button to ground the system board.

6Remove any installed cards from the ExpressCard slot (see "Removing an ExpressCard or Blank" on page 71) and the 3-in-1 media memory card reader (see "Removing a Media Memory Card" on page 73).

7Close the display and turn the computer upside down on a flat work surface.

8Remove the hard drive (see "Hard Drive" on page 92).
