Required Tools
Use the following tools to perform the procedures provided in this appendix:
•Antistatic wrist strap
•Phillips screwdriver
Caution: An antistatic wrist strap is required to perform the following procedures to minimize ESD damage to the devices involved.

Setting the Mode Switches
Caution: Read the appropriate sections to be fully aware of the consequences when changing switch settings.
Only qualified personnel should change switch settings.

The location on the main board of the mode switches for both the 2S4082‐25 and the 7S4280‐19 are the same. Figure B‐1 shows the location of the mode switches and the switch settings for normal operation. These switches are set at the factory to the off position and rarely need to be changed.
Switch definitions and positions are as follows:
•Switches 1 through 6 – For Enterasys Networks use only.
•Switch 7 – Clear Persistent Data. Changing the position of this switch clears Persistent Data on the next power‐up of the module. All user‐entered parameters, such as the IP address or
