Using LANVIEW
TheNACControllerPEPsuseabuilt‐invisualdiagnosticandstatusmonitoringsystemcalled
LANVIEW.TheLANVIEWLEDs(Figure 5‐1)allowquickobservationofthenetworkstatustoaid
indiagnosingnetworkproblems.
About the Management (MGMT) LED
TheMGMTLED(showninFigure 5‐1)indicatesthattheNACControllerPEPisservingasthe
ManagementModuletocontrolthemanagementfunctionsfortheNACControllerPEP.The
ManagementModulehandlesallIPrequeststothechassisIPaddress,suchasPING,Telnet,
SNMP,andHTTP.TheManagementModulealsohandlestheCLIconfigurationsessionsby
meansoftheconsoleport.
Viewing the Receive and Transmit Activity
Onthe2S4082‐25and7S4280‐19NACControllerPEPs,youcanviewthereceiveandtransmit
activityontheRXandTXLEDs.However,onlyonegroupof12portsmaybeviewedatatime.
Toviewthereceiveandtransmitactivityonagroupofattachedsegments,presstheGROUP
SELECTbutton(seeFigure 5‐1)tosteptothegroupofinterest(Groups1or2).Eachtimethe
GROUPSELECTbuttonispressed,theGROUPLEDlightsupinsequence,indicatingwhich
groupisselected.Thereceiveandtransmitactivityforthatgroupofsegmentsisthenindicatedby
theRXandTXLEDsforeachport.
