Power Supply LANVIEW LEDs

EachpowersupplyutilizesasingleLEDtomonitoranddetectpowersupplyfailureand

explanationofthepowersupplyLEDsandtheirdefinitions.
Power Supply Status Through System Management
TheEnterasys NAC ControllerpowersuppliesreportinformationtotheNACControllerPEP
installedinthechassisregardingtheirpresentoperatingstatus.Thisinformationincludesthe
following:
•PowerSupplyID(PS1,PS2)
•PowerSupplyStatus(normal/fault)
•PowerSupplyRedundancyindication

howtoaccesspowersupplystatusinformationviaLocalManagement.
Auto-Ranging Power Supplies
TheEnterasys NAC Controllerpowersuppliesautomaticallyadjusttotheinputvoltageand
frequency,whichallowsforaninputvoltageof100to240 Vac,andafrequencybetween50and
60 Hz.RefertotheoperatingspecificationsinAppendix A.Noadditionaladjustmentsare
necessary.ForinstallationsinNorthAmerica,two15Apowercordsarerequired.Referto

Power Supply Replacement
PowersuppliesintheEnterasys Matrix N1chassisarefixedand,assuch,arenotconsidered
field‐replaceableunits.
Ifapowersupplymustbereplaced,contactTechnicalSupportforinformation(referto“Getting
Help”onpagexviii).
Chassis Cooling System
TheEnterasys Matrix N1chassisbackplanesupportssix2‐wire12vfans.Generalfanfailureis
detectedatthechassisbackplaneandthestatusisrelayedtothemoduleusingtheFTM2
connector.
ThefanshaveoneLANVIEWLEDlocatedonthefrontoftheunit.ThisLEDindicatesthestatusof
thefans,eithernormalorfaultcondition.Sincethefansarebuiltintothechassis,thereisno
supportfora‘FanPresent’indicator.RefertoChapter 2,InstallationRequirementsand
