8.4.9 Communication Interface Commands
The communication interface commands are used for querying and setting se-
rial port, IR, and IEEE configurationparameters.
8.4.9.1 SYSTem:COMMunicate:IR:FEED? [MIN|MAX|DEF]
Returnsthe state of the IR port printing.
Example: SYST:COMM:SER:FEED?
Response:0
A valueof 1 is returned if IR port printing is enabled. A value of 0 is returned
if IR port printing is disabled. Specifying the MIN parameter returns a value of
0. Specifying the MAX parameter returns a value of 1. Specifying the DEF pa-
rameter returnsa value of 0.
8.4.9.2 SYSTem:COMMunicate:IR:FEED <bool>|MIN|MAX|DEF
Sets the state of the IR port printing.
Example: SYST:COMM:SER:FEEDDEF
The <bool>parameter turns IR printing on (1 or ON) or off (0 or OFF). Spec-
ifying the MIN, MAX, or DEF parameter sets the IR printing to the minimum,
maximum, or defaultvalue respectively. The *RST command sets the IR port
printing to OFF.
8.4.9.3 SYSTem:COMMunicate:IR:MODE? [MIN|MAX|DEF]
Returnsthe IR mode setting.
Example: SYST:COMM:IR:MODE?
Response:0
A valueof 0 is returned if the IR mode is off (IR port is disabled). A value of 1
is returned if the IR port is in HP printer mode. A value of 2 is returned if the
IR portis in communications mode. This mode should be used when using the
thermometerreadout with the LogWa re software. A value of 3 is returned if the
IR port isin IRDAmode. Specifying the MIN parameter returns a value of 0.
Specifying the MAX parameter returns a value of 2. Specifying the DEF pa-
rameter returnsa value of 0.
8.4.9.4 SYSTem:COMMunicate:IR:MODE <num>|MIN|MAX|DEF
Sets the IR mode setting.
Example: SYST:COMM:IR:MODE1
The <num> parameter specifiesthe IR mode setting. A value of 0 turns IR
mode off (IR port is disabled). A value of 1 sets the IR mode to HP printer
mode. A valueof 2 sets the IR mode to communications mode. A value of 3
