Oven Temperature Adjustment

Thetemperatureselectedonthe themostatdial
determinestheaverageofthe maximumandminimum
temperaturesreachedduringthecyclingoftheoven
burner.Thethermostatcontrolinyournewovenhas
beencarefu~ydesignedandmanufacturedtoprovide
accuratetemperatures.Hyournewoven isreplacing
oneyou haveusedfor several years,youmay notice
adifferencein thedegreeofbrowningorthe lengthof
timerequiredwhenusing yourfavoriterecipes.This
isbecauseoven temperaturecontrolshaveatendency
to “drift” overaperiodof years.
Beforeattemptingtohave thetemperatureofyour
newoven changed,besureyou havecarefully
followedthebakingtime andtemperature
recommendedbytherecipe.Then,afteryouhaveused
theovenafew timesandyoufeel theovenis toohotor
toocool,thereis asimpleadjustmentyoucanmake
yourselfontheOVENCO~OL knob.
Pullthe knoboffthe rangeandlook attheback side. -
Tomakeadjustment,loosen(approximatelyoneturn),
butdo notcompletelyremove,thetwo screwson the
backof theknob.Withthe backof theknob facing
you,holdtie outer edgeofthe knobwithone hand
andturn thefrontof theknobwith theotherhand.
Toraisethe oventemperature,movetie topscrew
towardtheright. You’llhearaclickfor eachnotch
youmovethe knob.Tolower thetemperature,move
thetop screwtowardtheleft. Eachclickwill change
theoven temperatureapproximately10”F.(Rangeis
plusor minus60°F.from thearrow.)
Wesuggestthatyou makethe adjustmentoneclick
fromthe originalsettingandcheckoven performance
beforemakingany additionaladjustments.
Afterthe adjustmentismade,retightenscrewsso they
aresnug, butbecarefulnot toovertighten.Reinstall
knobon rangeandcheckperformance.
