Before you attach a new SCSI driv e, to ensure that the SCSI bus address of your device is currently unused, you can use SAM, or y ou can use the ioscan tool to help determine whic h devices are currently connected. To determine the currently connected SCSI bus IDs, en ter the following command line:
/etc/ioscan
The result will be a displa y of information, suc h as the following:
Class | H/W Path Driver | H/W Status | S/W Status | Description |
| |
========================================================================= | 4 | |||||

...
For example, the SCSI bus address for the \MICR OP" disk device is in the fourth column of its hardw are address as \ 6" (2.0.1. 6 .0). If you were installing another disk, for le system use, it w ould best be accessed at the adjacent SCSI bus address in the \scanning" order, \ 5". SAM would help you determine where to put it when y ou did the installation.
