If your system doesn't ha ve any printers connected, you will see a message. Make sure you have a printer connected. Choose OK or press 4Return5.

5.From the Actions menu (on the menu bar at the top of the screen), choose Add Local Printer/Plotter

6.Choose an appropriate selection on the sub-men u giving options for Parallel, Serial, HP-IB, etc.

7.A screen will giv e you information on a vailable parallel or serial in terfaces.

8.If you chose Add Serial (RS-232) Printer/Plotter , more than

4one serial interface could be listed. The serial in terfaces are listed in ascending order. The lo west-numbered serial interface corresponds to the lowest-numbered serial connector on y our system. Choose the one to whic h you have connected your printer.

9.Choose OK

A display opens for Add Local Printer/Plotter .

10.Choose the box labeled Printer Name and enter your printername for the new printer (entered in the blank earlier).

11.Choose Printer/Model Interface

12.Scroll down the next screen, using the arrow k eys, to ￿nd the Model Name of your printer.

13.Choose the Model Name (press 4Return5 when illuminated).

14.Choose OK .

15. In the Add Local Printer/Plotter display which reappears, select and choose the box labeled Make this the system default printer .

16.Choose OK .

17.If the prin t spooler was not previously running, a screen will appear with the question: Do you want to start the print spooler now? . Choose

Yes or press 4Return5.
