hardware, it will be necessary to ha ve that hardware repaired

 

before you can proceed with the items in this list.

a.You might need to run the fsck program to repair y our root ￿le system.

Do so in single-user mo de only .

b.The /hp-uxkernel ￿le can be restored, if it has been corrupted or removed, by doing the follo wing:

i.Mounting your system disk to an empt y directory (mak e one if necessary) in y our memory-based reco very system.

ii.Using the cp command to copy the /hp-ux￿le from your memory-based system (it is a cop y of your real /hp-ux￿le) to the directory you used as a mount point for your system disk. The destination ￿le should be called hp-ux.
