If you need to cycle power on a system using a local disk, y ou will have to execute the shutdown command rst. You can do this either from the command line or within SAM.

1. As root, enter the follo wing command:
shutdown
This will giv e you and any other users on y our system a

Waiting a grace period of 60 seconds for users to logout. Do not turn off the power or press reset during this time.

3.At the end of the period, y ou will see another w arning and the follo wing request for conrmation:
Do you want to continue? ...
4.Respond with y. You will see another message conrming sh utdown. Finally, you will see the follo wing message:
Halted, you may now cycle power.
