Menu item

Description

 

Automatic Method

Automatic wiping marks all disk space used by a previous print job and does not

 

Single pass

permit the file system to reuse this space until it has been cleared.

 

Multiple pass

Only Automatic wiping enables users to activate disk wiping without having to turn

 

 

the printer off for an extended amount of time.

 

 

Notes:

 

 

“Single pass” is the factory default setting.

 

 

Highly confidential information should be wiped using only the Multiple pass

 

 

method.

 

 

 

 

Manual Method

Both manual and scheduled wiping allow the file system to reuse marked disk space

 

Single pass

without having to wipe it first.

 

Multiple pass

Notes:

 

 

“Single pass” is the factory default setting.

 

 

Highly confidential information should be wiped using only the Multiple pass

 

 

method.

 

 

 

 

Scheduled Method

Enables an authorized user to export the audit log

Notes:

To export the audit log from the printer control panel, a flash drive must be attached to the printer.

From the Embedded Web Server, the audit log can be downloaded to a computer.

Specifies whether audit logs are deleted

Note: “Yes” is the factory default setting.
