Scanning directly to e-mail using the printersoftware
For Windows users
1Load an original document.
The Instant Preview screen appears.
2Click or Start.
3Click All Programs or Programs, and then select the printer program folder from the list.
4Navigate to:
Printer Home > select your printer > E-mail
5Select Photo, Document, or PD F.
Note: You can select Document o nly if an OCR application is s tored on your computer.
6Scanning starts and the scan pro gress dialog appears.
7When the scan is finished, a new e-mail message is created with the scanned document automatically at tached.
8Compose your e-mail message.
Note: If your e-mail program does not open automatically, then you can scan the document to the computer and
then send it through e-mai l as an attachment.
For Macintosh users
1Load an original document.
The Instant Preview screen appears.
2From the Finder, navigate to:
Applications > select your printer folder
3Double-click Scan Center.
If scanning from a network printer, then you must first add the printer to the Edit Device List dialog.
aFrom the Device pop-up menu, choose Browse Devices.
bFrom the Edit Device List dialog, add your printer. For more information, click .
cClick OK.
4From the “What is being scanned?” area of the Scan Center, select a document type.
5From the “How will the scanned image be used?” menu, choose To be viewed on monitor/Web page.
6From the “Send scanned image to” menu, choose an appli cation.
7Click Scan.
8Retrieve the scanned image from the application, and then send it t hrough e-mail as an attachm ent.
