Either DTMF of Pulse Dialing can be selected for the T1 channels.
• From the programming extension, press the PROGRAM key.
• Press the Scroll Down key () until “System Programming” is displayed.
• Select “System Programming”.
• Enter the System Programming Password and select “Lines”.
• Press the Scroll Down key () until “T1 (RBS) or PRI (ISDN)” is displayed.
• Select T1 (RBS).
• Select “DTMF/Pulse Dialing”.
• The menu displays the two options, “DTMF Dialing” or “Pulse Dialing”.
• Select “DTMF Dialing” option.
• The menu updates to show all the equipped lines.
• Select the lines to set as DTMF Dialing.
• When Pulse Dialing is selected the menu updates to show all equipped lines.
• Select the lines to be set as “Pulse Dialing”.
In default all lines are set to DTMF dialing.
T1 PRI Channel Programming If T1 PRI is programmed the default settings are as follows: -
The ISDN Signalling Protocol (Q931) is set to National ISDN 2.
The Line Build Out is set to -7.5 dB.
The Line Gain is set to High at -3dB.
Programming the ISDN Signalling Protocol (Q931) on the T1 PRI
Two ISDN signalling protocols are supported, National ISDN 2 and AT&T 5ESS.

Note: The DMS Exchange equipment or DMS Central Office (ONLY) must have the L1 flag under the
trunk sub group programmed to YES to avoid issues.

• Enter the System Programming Password and select “Lines”.
• Press the Scroll Down key () until “T1 Channels)” is displayed.
• Select the “PRI (ISDN) ” option.
• Select the “Protocol (Q931) ” option.
• When Protocol (Q931) is selected the menu updates to show the two options “National ISDN 2” or
“AT&T 5ESS”.
• Select the required option.
Programming the Line Build-Out for PRI
The Line Build-Out can be set at 0dB, -7.5dB, -15dB or -22dB.
• From the programming extension, press the PROGRAM key.
• Press the Scroll Down key () until “System Programming” is displayed.
• Select “System Programming”.
• Enter the System Programming Password and select “Lines”.
