The call is presented to the destination set in the Incoming Ringing programming for the CO line.
Dialing More than One Digit If a valid extension number is dialed and the extension is free, the phone is rung.
If the extension is busy the call is camped on to the extension. If a forward when busy is programmed it is
activated. If forward on no answer is programmed it is activated after the no answer timer expires.
Dialing an Invalid Number If a number is dialed which is not a valid extension, group, or phantom mailbox the call is presented to the
destination set in the Incoming Ringing programming for the CO line.
Valid extension numbers are those associated with the extension cards equipped in the switch. An
extension on a extension card which has not got a phone connected to it is a valid extension. However an
extension number associated with an extension card that is not fitted is not a valid number.
If a phantom mailbox is not programmed the number associated with that box is not a valid number.
Dialing Incomplete Numbers If an incomplete number is dialed (e.g. 10) the call is presented to the destination set in the “Incoming
Ringing” programming for the CO line after five seconds. A five second inter digit pause is provided
between the second and subsequent digits.
Dialing when in the Recording Phase Digits 1 - 0 provides the same dial through service as when listening to the greeting.
Dialing * presents the prompt to select a mailbox. It is the same as accessing a mailbox when dialing
through a greeting.
Dialing # ends the recording phase. The message is stored. The caller can dial through as when listening to
the greeting. If no digits are detected within 5 seconds the call is disconnected.
Note: Once the caller has left the Auto Attendant greeting, there is no return to the original Auto Attendant
message. The only exception is when entering the system using the Name Directory and a “*” is pressed,
the caller will be sent back to the original Auto Attendant greeting.
Useful samples of digit translation (single digit dial through) 1. Caller to leave a message in a General Mailbox
When the caller listens to the greeting and selects “1” it will be sent directly to mailbox 199 (Group 20)
and can leave a message for this group. All the stations of this group will show the led message
indication ON.
To program the Mitel 3000 with this feature:
Enable mailbox Group 20 (199)
Forward all calls of this group to 710 which is the code for voice mail
2. Caller to go to a Greeting indicating directions or opening hours
When the caller listens to the greeting and selects “1” it will be sent directly to mailbox 199 (Group
20), they will hear the greeting of instructions of how to get to a place/site, it will pause for 3 seconds
and it will play the greeting one more time and then it will hang up.
While listening to the greeting the caller can also dial through to another extension if desired.
To program the Mitel 3000 with this feature:
Enable mailbox Group 20 (199) but as “Information Only”
Forward all calls to 710 which is the code for voice mail.
