Programmed systemphone keys in Key system mode
The systemphone keys are programmed with Lines 1-8 in the case of the eight key set and Lines 1-16 in the
case of the sixteen key set.
If the switch is programmed with a T1 interface pressing Line 1 will select the first T1 line, selecting Line 2
will select the second line etc.
If the switch is programmed with a T1/E1 PRI interface pressing Line 1 will request a B channel from the
network. The line offered may not be the first B Channel. However the Led associated with Line 1 key will
light on all systemphones.
Any backup CO Lines equipped will be numbered 25 - 28 when the interface is programmed as T1, 24 -27
when the interface is programmed as T1 Primary Rate ISDN and 30 – 34 when the interface is programmed
asE1 Primary Rate ISDN.
Any IP Trunk lines equipped will be numbered IP Trunk 1 – 12.
If more than 16 Line keys are required the keys on a DSS unit can be programmed. The same procedure
applies to these keys. In the case of T1 the Line key pressed will select the corresponding T1 line and in the
case of T1/E1 PRI the network will determine the B Channel.
Line presentation in the systemphone display
When a switch is equipped with CO Lines only the lines are presented as Line 1, Line 2 etc on the
systemphone display when an external consultation, transfer or conference is invoked.
If a T1 or T1/E1 PRI interface is programmed the same display is maintained i.e. Line 1, Line 2 Line 3 etc.
In the case of T1 Line 1 will select the first T1 line, Line 2 the second etc. Any backup CO Lines equipped
will be numbered Line 25, 26, 27 and 28.
In the case of T1 PRI or E1 PRI the numbering will be the same as for T1 but when a line is selected the
network will determine which B-Channel is used. Any backup CO Lines will be numbered Line 24, 25, 26
and 27 in the case of T1 PRI and 31, 32, 33 and 34 in the case of E1 PRI.
