To specify preferences for external numbers:
1.Open Settings shutter.
2.Press the scroll buttons ( ) until the Dialing Preferences setting is listed.
3.Press the Dialing Preferences label.
4.Press the External Numbers label.
5.Specify the type of external calls you make:
If you always make local external calls, press the button opposite Dial as local call.
If you always make long distance external calls, press the button opposite Dial as a long distance call and go to step 10.
If you make both local and long distance external calls, press the button opposite Unknown.
6.In the Dial as local call option, press the Local call prefix field.

9.Optionally:
Press the Remove area code checkbox if you wish to dial your external numbers without an area code. For example, if your area code is 613 and all your external numbers are dialed to the 613 area code, you can remove the area code from your dialing numbers.

11.Press Close.
Note: If you do not close this screen before navigating away from it, the next time you open the Settings shutter, this screen is displayed. You are now finished this procedure.
