To specify preferences for external numbers:

1.Open Settings shutter.

2.Press the scroll buttons ( ) until the Dialing Preferences setting is listed.

3.Press the Dialing Preferences label.

4.Press the External Numbers label.

5.Specify the type of external calls you make:

„If you always make local external calls, press the button opposite Dial as local call.

„If you always make long distance external calls, press the button opposite Dial as a long distance call and go to step 10.

„If you make both local and long distance external calls, press the button opposite Unknown.

6.In the Dial as local call option, press the Local call prefix field.

7.In the on-screen keyboard, enter the digits (maximum of three) that must be dialed before the number itself. For example, enter the digit you must dial to get an outside line.

8.Press OK.

9.Optionally:

„Press the Remove area code checkbox if you wish to dial your external numbers without an area code. For example, if your area code is 613 and all your external numbers are dialed to the 613 area code, you can remove the area code from your dialing numbers.

„In the on-screen keyboard, enter the area code you wish to remove from your dialing number and press OK. Go to step 10.

„In the Dial as a long distance call option, press the Long distance prefix field.

„In the on-screen keyboard, enter a prefix (maximum three digits) and press OK. Go to step 10. Note that if you have the long distance prefix in your number, this step is not necessary and you are ready to

go to step 10.

10.Pess Save.

11.Press Close.

Note: If you do not close this screen before navigating away from it, the next time you open the Settings shutter, this screen is displayed. You are now finished this procedure.
