Selecting Listening Modes

See “About the Listening Modes” on page 71 for detailed information about the listening modes.

•The Dolby Digital and DTS listening modes can only be selected if your DVD player is connected to the AV receiver/AV amplifier with a digital audio connection (coaxial or optical).

•Listening mode availability depends on the format of the current input signal.

Selecting on the AV receiver/AV amplifier	■ [STEREO] button
	This button selects the Stereo listening mode.
PURE AUDIO STEREO	■ [SURR] button

This button selects the Dolby Digital and DTS listen- ing modes and the Neural THX Surround listening mode.

LISTENING MODE []/[ ] buttons

Pressing these buttons repeatedly cycles through all of the listening modes that can be used with the cur- rent input source.

LISTENING MODE

■[PURE AUDIO] button

This button selects the Pure Audio listening mode. When this mode is selected, the AV receiver/AV amplifier’s display is turned off and only video sig- nals input through HDMI IN can be output. Pressing this button again will select the previous listening mode.

■[STEREO] button

This button selects the Stereo listening mode.

■LISTENING MODE []/[ ] buttons

■[PURE A] button

This button selects the Pure Audio listening mode. When this mode is selected, the AV receiver’s dis- play is turned off and only the HDMI OUT outputs video signals.

This button selects the Direct listening mode.

■[THX] button

This button selects the THX listening modes.

■[ALL ST] button

This button selects the All Channel Stereo listening mode.
