Is this a non-standard picture, a picture which has been edited usin g a PC or a picture which
was taken by another make of dig i tal ca m er a?
Did you remove the battery im m ediately after picture-taking or did you take the picture using a
battery with a low remaini ng c harge?

Is the clock in the camera set properly? ( P16 )
When pictures edited using a PC or pictures ta ken by other equipment are searched, they may
be displayed on dates differin g f rom the actual dates on which the pic t ures were taken.
Is it a picture that has been recorded wi th other equipment? In such cases, these pict ures may
be displayed wit h a deteriorated picture quality.
This unit aut omatically adjusts the ap erture duri ng motion pict ure recording . At such times , a clickin g
sound is heard, and this soun d m ay be recorded on the mo tion pi ctures. This is not a malfunction.
Is the camera connected to th e T V cor rectly?
>Set the TV input to external in put mode.
Output from the [C OM P O N ENT OUT] socket is not possibl e wh en it is connected to the PC or
the printer .
>Connect it only to the TV.
Depending on the T V model, the pictur es may be extende d horizontally or verti cally or they
may be displayed with the ir edg es cut off.
Are you trying to pla y back the motion pictur es by directly inser ting the card in th e card slot of the TV?
>Connect the camera to the TV wi t h the AV cable (supplied), or with th e component cable
(DMW-HDC2; optional), a nd t hen play back the motion pictur es on the camera. (P94, 95)
The folder number and the file number are displayed as [—] and the screen turns bl ack.
With a calendar search, pictures are displayed on dates differing from the actual
dates on which the picture s were taken.
White round spots like soap b ubbles appear on the rec orded picture.
If you take a picture with the flas h in a dark place or indoors, whi te
round spots may appear on the picture caused by the flash reflecting of
particles of dust in the air. This is not a malfunction.
A characteristic of this is th at the number of round spots and thei r
position differ in every pict ure .

A clicking sound is recorded in the motion p ictures.
TV, PC and printer
The picture does not appear o n the television.
The display area s on the TV scree n and the camera ’s LCD monitor are d ifferent.
The motion pictures cannot be played back on a TV.
