Setting the white balance manually
1Select [Ó] and then press [MENU/SET].
2Aim the camera at a sheet of white paper et c. so that the
frame in the center is filled b y the white object only and the n
press [MENU/SET].
Finely adjusting the white balance [ ]
You can finely adjust th e white balance when you cannot acquire the des ired hue by
setting the white bala nc e.
Set the white balance to [V]/[Ð]/[
î
]/[Ñ]/[Ò].
1Press 3 [È] several times until [WB ADJUST.] appears
and then press 2/1 to adjust the white balanc e.
Select [0] to return to the orig i nal w hite balance.
2Press [MENU/SET] to finish.
You can also press the shutter button halfw ay to finish.
The white balance icon on th e sc reen turns red or blue.
You can finely adjust the white balance inde pendently for each white bala nce item.
The white balance fine adjus tment setting is reflected in t he picture when using the flash .
The white balanc e f i n e adjustment set ti ng is memorized ev en if the camera is turn ed off.
The white balanc e f i ne adjustment level in [Ò] returns to [0] when yo u reset the whit e
balance using [Ó].
In the [UNDERWATER] in scene mode, the whit e balance is fixed at [AWB], but it can be
finely adjusted.
Auto white balance
Depending on the conditions prevailing when pictures are taken, the pictur es may take on
a reddish or blui sh tinge. Furth ermore, when a mu ltiple number of light sources are being
used or there is nothing with a color clos e to white, auto white balance may not function
properly. In a case like this, s et the white balance t o a mode other than [AWB].
