Connecting to other equipment

A new folder is crea ted when pictures are t aken in the following situations.

•After [NO.RESET] (P22) in the [SETUP] menu has been executed

•When a card containin g a folder with the same folder number h as been inserted (S uch as when

pictures were taken using anot her make of camera)

•When there is a picture with file nu m ber 999 inside the folder

∫Connection in the PTP mode (Win dowsR XP, Windows VistaR and Mac OS X only)

Set [USB MODE] to [Pi ctBridge(PTP)].

Data can now be read only from the card into the PC.

•When there are 1000 or more pictu res on a card, the pictures may not be imported in the PTP

mode.

Printing the Pictures

If you connect the camer a to a pr i nte r supp or ti ng Pict Bri dg e, yo u can sel ec t the pi ctur es to

be printed out and instruct that printing be started on the camera’s LCD monitor.

Preparations:

Turn on the camera and the printer.

Remove the card before printing the pictures in the built-in memory.

Perform the print quality and other settings at the printer before printing the pictures.

Set the mode dial to anything except [¨].

Connect the camera to a printer via the USB connection cable A

(supplied).

•Check the directions of the conn ectors, and plug them straig ht in o r un plug them straight out.

(Otherwise the connectors m ay be bent out of shape which will caus e t rou ble.)

BAlign the marks, and insert.

CAC adaptor (DMW-AC5PP; opt i onal)

•Use a battery with a sufficient b attery power or the AC adaptor (DMW- AC5PP; optional). If the

remaining battery power be co mes low while the camera and the printer are connected, the

status indicator blinks and the ala rm beeps. If this happens during pr i nt ing, stop printing at

once. If not printin g, disconnect the US B connection cable.

•When the camera is connected to t he printer, the cable disconnect prohibit i co n [å] appears.

Do not disconnec t the USB cable whi le [å] is displayed.
