∫Extended optical zoom mechanism

When you set the picture size to [ ] (3 million pixels), the 10M (10.1 million pixels) CCD

area is cropped t o the center 3M (3 million pixels) area, allowin g a picture with a higher

zoom effect.

Note

•The digital zoom cannot be set when õ or ¨ has bee n sel ec ted.

•The indicated zoom magnification is an approx imation.

•“EZ” is an abbreviation of “Ex tended optical Zoom”.

•The optical zoom is set to Wide (1k) when the camera is turned on.

•If you use the zoom function after f ocusing on the subject, focus on the subjec t a gain.

•The lens barrel extends or ret ra cts according to the zoom position. Take care not to inte rr upt

the motion of the lens barrel w hile the zoom lever is rotated.

•When using the digital zoom, [S TABILIZE R] may not be effective.

•When using the digital zoom, we re commend using a tripod and the self-tim er (P41) for taking

pictures.

Playing back Pictures ([NORMAL PLAY])

•Speed of picture forwarding/rewind ing changes depending on the playback sta tu s.

∫Fast forwarding/Fast rewi nding

Press and hold 2/1 during playb ack.

•The file number A and the picture number B only

change one by one. Release 2/1 when th e number of

the desired picture appea rs to play back the picture.

•If you keep pressi n g 2/1, the number of pictures forwar ded/rewound increases.

Slide the [REC]/[PLAYBACK] selector

switch A to [(].

•Normal playback is set automatically in the

following case s.

–When the mode was switched fr om t he [REC]

to [PLAYBACK].

–When the camera was turne d on w hile the

[REC]/[PLAYBACK] selector switch was at

[(].

•When the mode dial is set to [¨], clipboard will

be displayed. Refer to “Viewing cli pb oard

pictures” (P68) for in fo rmation about playing

back the clipboard.
