spreadsthe center channel sound into the
frontleft and right speakers over a range 0to
7.
3isthe default and its recommended for
mostrecordings. 0places all center sound in
thecenter speaker. 7places all center sound
equallyin the left/right speakers.
Setting the speaker setting
Youneed to make with/without (or yes/no) and
size(bass reproducing capacity) selection/ad-
justmentsdepending on the installed speak-
ers.The size needs to be set to LARGE (large)
ifthe speaker is capable of reproducing
soundsof about 100 Hz or below. Otherwise
selectSMALL (small).
!Lowfrequency range is not output if the
subwooferis set to OFF and the front and
rearspeakers set to SMALL or OFF.
!Itis imperative that non-installed speakers
beset to OFF.
!Setthe front or rear speaker to LARGE if
thespeaker is capable of reproducing bass
content,or if no subwoofer is installed.

4 Touchcor dto select the correct size
forthe selected speaker.
Eachtime you touch cor dselects the size in
thefollowing order:
OFF(off)SMALL (small)LARGE (large)
#Youcannot select OFF, when FRONT (front
speakers)have been selected.
#Youcan select ON or OFF, when
SUBWOOFER (subwoofer) has been selected.
#Youcan switch REVERSE (reverse phase) or
NORMAL(normal phase), when PHASE (subwoo-
fersetting) has been selected.

Correctingthe subwoofers phase

Iftr ying to boost the bass output of the sub-
wooferdoesnt do much or rather makes you
feelthat the bass gets more murky, this may
indicatethat the subwoofer s output and bass
contentyou hear over other speakers cancel
eachother out. To remove this problem, try
changingthe phase setting for the subwoofer.
