Showsthe type of disc currently playing.

DVD:shows the title currently playing.
Compressedaudio and DivX: shows the folder
currentlyplaying.
4Chapter/track/filenumber indicator
DVD:shows the chapter currently playing.
VideoCD and CD: shows the track currently
playing.
Compressedaudio and DivX: shows the file
currentlyplaying.

DVDvideo: shows the subtitle language,
audiolanguage and viewing angle.
CDTEXT, compressed audio and DivX: shows
thetext information of currently playing disc.
1 Inserta disc into the disc loading slot.
Playbackwill automatically start.
#Besure to turn up the label side of adisc.
#Aftera disc has been inserted, use touch
panelkeys to select the DVD player.
#Whenthe automatic playback function is on,
thisunit will cancel the DVD menu and automati-
callystart playback from the first chapter of the
firsttitle. Refer to Automatic playback of DVDs on
page26.
#Withsome DVD discs, a menu may be dis-
played.(Refer to Operating the DVD menu on the
nextpage.)
#Witha Video CD featuring the PBC (playback
control)function, a menu is displayed. (Refer to
PBCplayback on page 23.)
#Toeject a disc, press h(eject).
2 Touchthe screen to display the touch
panelkeys.
3 Whenplaying a compressed audio or
DivX,touch aor bto select a folder.
#Toreturn to folder 01 (ROOT), touch and hold
.However, if folder 01 (ROOT) contains no files,
playbackcommences with folder 02.
isdisplayed only when the list is operated.
4 Toskip back or forward to another
chapter/track,briefly touch oor p.
#Youcan also skip back or forward toanother
chapter/trackby pressing –or +(TRACK).
#DuringPBC playback, a menu may be dis-
playedif you perform these operations.
5 Toperform fast forward or reverse,
keeptouching oor p.
WhenDVD, DivX disc or Video CD is playing, if
youkeep touching oor pfor fivesec-
onds,the icon mor nis highlighted.
Whenthis happens, fast reverse/fast forward
continueseven if you release oor p.To
resumeplayback at a desired point, touch
de.
#Whenplaying DVD video or Video CD, fast for-
ward/fastreverse may not be possible at certain
locationson some discs. If this happens, normal
playbackautomatically resumes.
Notes
!Ifyou do not use the touch panel keys within
30seconds, they will be hidden automatically
whendisplaying video image.
