Maintenance

Cleaning the Media Sensor

The media sensors are located on the Media Transfer Surface in the backside and the bottom surface of the head. When the sensor is covered with dust, etc., it may cause false detection of media.

Using a cotton swab, remove the dust, etc. accumulated on the surface of the sensor.

When cleaning the sensor on the lower surface of the head is cleaned, move the carriage to the left end by the operations of step 1 of P.4-13 “Cleaning the Head and the Area around It (every day)”, and then clean it.

Cleaning the Media Holder

When the media holder is covered with lint, dust, etc., a media cannot be fed normally during printing or dust sticks to the nozzles, which may result in abnormal printing.

Clean the media holder regularly.
