Printer beep tones

The printer beeps both to warn you that something is

wrong and to indicate various aspects of normal opera-

tion, for example, to indicate that aparticular setting or

selection hasjust been made. The table below gives a

full list of printer beeps and their meanings

Tone sequence Meaning
Singletone lasting 2seconds The printer has detected an error condition. Switch
the printer off andon again.
Singletone lasting several The printer has detected an error condition. Switch
seconds the printer off andon again.
Fourshort tones, repeated The printer is out of paper
twice
Singleshort tone One of the following:
Verticalalignment mode has been selected
Zoom resolution hasbeen set to 50~0
Quiet mode hasbeen selected
Electronic DIPSwitch mode has been selected
Twoshort tones One of the following:
Macro (savedsettings) mode has been selected
Zoom resolution hasbeen set to 67Y0
Quiet mode hasbeen cancelled
Three short torfes Macro (savedsettings) mode has been cancelled
Singlequarter tone One of the following:
Hexadecimaldump mode has been selected
.Preventionof software font selection has been
selected
Zoom resolution hasbeen set to 10OYO(i.e.
