126 TASCAM GigaEditor 4 Manual
• is is a good option if y ou have made audio change s to your samples outside Giga Studio aer
having mapped out the instrument .
• Instead of having to rebuild the who le instrument, you can batch re place the sampl es from here.
• A common use for this feature is to replace the original samples with noise reduced versions or to
replace 16 bit samples with 24 bit v ersions.
• For this to work properly, it is important that the le names of the new samples match the le
names of the original samples as th ey appear in the Editor.
Replace all samp les in all folders
(Note that when a fo lder is selected , this command changes to “Re place all samples in folder”, abo ve.)
Use this command to perform a wholesale replacement of samples throughout the current .gig le. You'll
be asked to specify a root directory to be searched for replace ment samples. e replacement works by
attempting to match each sample's name (as seen in the sample list) to the name of a le under the root
directory. ere are two mod es of operation:
1. Match samples by name to .wav/.dxl les anywhere under the root directory. In this mode, a
sample will be replaced if a matching le can be found anywhere i n the root directory or in any of its
subdirectories.
2. Match only if the subdirectory name also matches the wave pool folder. is mode is useful when
the sample les a re arranged into subdirectories w hich mirror the f olders in your .gig le. e samples
in a folder named "Piano" will be r eplaced only by les found in a \Piano subdirectory of the root
directory.
Samples for which no matching le can be found are le u nchanged.
When searching for a replacement for an accelerated sample, the Editor looks for les with the extension
.dxl (Giga accelerated sample les ) and if no mat ch occurs, the se arch is repeated wi th the extensio n .wav.
Conversely, non-acc elerated sample s will be replac ed by .dxl l es, if the .dxl le exists and no matching .wa v
exists.
Export sample(s)
is command will export the selected samples (or the samples in the currently selected folder) to the hard
drive as standard .wav les.
Export as folder (folder only)
In this case, the who le folder will b e exported to th e hard drive as a folder of wav e les. e folder on dis k
will have the same name as the fo lder in the Editor.
Export all sample folders
is command will export all t he sample fold ers in the .gig le to the sp ecied root di rectory as wave les.
Subdirectories are created as nec essary and the samples are organized on disk as th ey are in the .gig le.
