is setting enables or disab les the Pitch Tracking of sam ples across the keyboard. It is typically disabled
for non-pitched samples such as drums, percussio n, loop, and sound eects and enabled for melodic
instruments. Pitch tracking will transpose the sample based on its unity note setti ng.

Mid/Side (“M/S”) micin g is a creative metho d of recording di rect from the source with a cardioid-type
microphone on one channel alongside a microphone with a “gure of 8” pattern to capture ambience.
Since it is not a tr ue right/le r epresentation o f the sound e ld it must r st be decoded t o a useable ster eo
signal. e di rect or “Mid” ch annel recording i s panned to th e center of the st ereo eld w hile the ambient
or “Side” channel recording is split to both le and right channels with the phase reversed on one of the
channels. e Side level can then be adjusted by attenuat ion to dial in the preferred amount o f “spread” in
the stereo image.
Self mask
When checked, this causes high velocity notes to shut o lower velocity voices. is feature conserves
polyphony and should be tried o n all samples with percussive att acks and relatively slow rel eases (pianos,
guitars, cymbals, etc).
Sustain defeat
is setting enables or di sables the sustaining actio n of the sustain pedal. is allows the sustai n pedal to
be used simply as a dimension switch without sustaining the sampl es.
Dimension bypass
You can bypass the current dimensi on by assigni ng one of these t wo controllers :
• Eect 4 depth (CC 94)
• Eect 5 depth (CC 95)
is allows you to turn a dime nsion on and o in real time using one of th ese MIDI contro llers. is can be
useful to override certain charact eristics built into an instrum ent without having to actually edit the
instrument.
Crossfade settings
ese settings cause the sam ple to fade in and out at the sp ecied values as the Attenuat ion Controller ( see
above) is swept across its range.
