Mono Rule: Legato mode with connecting samples
Overview
e legato mode with connecting samples enab ling developers to simulat e
legato transitions without the n eed for interval specic sampling.
ere are two modes this version of rule: normal a nd target tracking.
Developer Requirem ents
Set of standard sustain samples (primary sustain)
Set of standard release t rigger samples (prim ary release)
Set of 'connecting samples' (tran sitional sample)
Will require developer to sampl e an instrument performan ce of a 'legato movement,' i. e. two notes
performed in succession from whic h a sample of the transitio n can be extracted.
Set of 'target' sustain samples (t arget sustain)
Optional for developer; primary su stain samples can double as target sustain since independ ent
envelope control and sample start oset capability will allo w for one set of sustain s amples to
perform both tasks eectively.
Set of secondary release trigger samples (secondary release)
Also optional; 1 set of release trigg ers can be map ped to dierent dimensions w/ independent
editing capability to provide note-o functionality to entire instrument.

Mono Mode
Giga tracks root of primary sustain to re o corresp onding secondary release and transitional samples as
primary sustain note moves to ta rget sustain note, i.e. if th e primary sustain is C4 and the target sustain is
F4, Giga recognizes C4 as the 'active' note and re s o the corr esponding C4 sec ondary release a nd C4
transitional samples when a note-on status is triggered by the F4 key.
