TASCAM GigaEditor 4 Manual 181
Chapter 11: Intelligent MIDI (iMIDI) Rules
iMIDI rules are bits of extra lo gic which can be added to a Giga instrument.  ey range from the sim ple to
the very complex. For example, when the Transposition Ru le is added to an instrum ent it simply
transposes every no te seen by that instrument by a given number of semitones. Oth er rules work i n
conjunction with specially de ned dimensions to realize sam pled legato eects, to tri gger rapidly-patterned
articulation changes, and so forth.  e available iMIDI rules are listed later in this chapter .
iMIDI Rules are added, edited, o r deleted via the iMIDI Rule Manager in one of two ways:
In GigaStudio, a rule can be ad ded to an instrument and then saved together with t he instrument
as part of a performance le. e rule will be loaded with the instrument whenever the
performance is loaded.
In the Instrument Editor, a rul e added to an instrument wi ll be saved with that instrum ent in the
.gig le.  e rule is then a pplied to the inst rument wheneve r the instrument is loaded.
