Entering a Setup Code

The supplied universal remote control unit can operate not only this receiver but also up to 7 most popular brands of audio and video components such as CD players, cassette decks, TVs, cable boxes, VCRs, DVD players, satellite receivers, and so on.

To operate components other than this receiver, you should enter the setup code for each component.

The factory default setup code of CD and DVD is “000”. You will be able to control certain TEAC’s CD player and DVD player with this code. If the code doesn’t work, try other codes.

1Turn on the component to be controlled.

2Pick up the setup code from the list on page 111.

3Press and hold down both the ENTER button and the corresponding REMOTE SELECT button.

CD: CD player

TAPE/MD: cassette tape deck or MD deck

TV: TV

VCR: video tape deck

DVD: DVD player

CABLE: cable box

SAT: satellite receiver

<The LED will flicker once. If the LED did not flicker, try again.

<You cannot select the RECEIVER button, as it is exclusive for the AG-15D receiver.

4Pointing the remote control unit towards the remote sensor of the component, enter the 3-digit setup code using the numeric buttons.

<If the code is accepted successfully, the LED will blink twice. If the LED did not blink twice, try step 3 and 4 again.

<To check if the entered code is correct, press the POWER, PLAY, CHANNEL, etc. If the buttons work, the code is correct. If the buttons don’t work, repeat steps 2 to 4 trying each code for your component until you find one that works.

Manufacturers may use different setup codes for the same product category. Therefore, it is important to check if the code you have entered operates as many controls as possible. If only a few functions operate, check if another code works with more buttons.
