6.5 REPLACING CONSUMABLES

This section explains when to replace ink cassettes, roll media, or the cutting blade and the procedures for replacement.

6.5.1Replacing Ink Cassettes

Read the following for information on when and how to replace ink cassettes.

(1) Replacement time

Replace ink cassettes under the following conditions.

a. The ink remaining in the ink cassette is low.

oThe following message is displayed on the operation panel.

oPrinting operation is continued.

oPrepare new ink cassettes before they are totally empty.

b.The ink cassette becomes empty.

oThe following message is displayed on the operation panel.

oPrinting operation stops.

oReplace with a new ink cassette as soon as possible.

6.5.1Replacing Ink Cassettes Notes (1) Replacement time

When the ink runs out or is low, the ink colour is indicated as follows:

1-8: The number of the ink cassette slot (Refer to ‘Installing ink cassettes’)

All: All inks

The printer is designed for use with 8265/8290/8365/8390 Ink cassettes. If you do not genuine

products, printouts may become faint and the printer will not be able to detect the end of ink.

The warranty will not cover (repairs will require a fee) a breakdown.
