In addition to the faults mentioned in the above table, there is a possibility of a cable being disconnected or shortened. Both these situations usually result in LOS indication either by the modem or by the end equipment.
E1/T1 LIU Jumper Settings
The LIU default setting is E1 balanced or T1 balanced, unless an E1 unbalanced configuration is specified. The following diagrams show the jumper configurations on the LIU board for each configuration option.
