Point Name The Point Name is simply a name for the point that may be used as a reference.

Assigning a descriptive name to a point makes setting up inputs for applications much easier. For example, if you have an inside temperature sensor located in Zone 1 of your building, you may name it “ZONE 1 TEMP”. Then, when programming your HVAC applications, you may easily define Zone 1’s temper- ature sensor input by tying it to ZONE 1 TEMP. This keeps you from having to keep track of which sen- sors are tied to which point numbers.

You are required to enter a point name in the Point Name field. The default name is “:{BOARD NAME}:{BOARD NUMBER}:{POINT NUM- BER}.”

Board/Point # The Board/Point number will auto- matically be defined if you are configuring the point from the Input Status screen.

Sensor Type The analog input may come from a number of different sensor types.
