Notes on power cabling | Power Supply Concept |
Phase redundancy is possible in regions, where a single phase provides 200 - 240V; in other regions with lower single phase voltage, two phases must be coupled and complete phase redundancy thus is not possible.
The unoccupied PSU slots are fitted with dummy modules to ensure that the electromagnetic emission properties of the system are observed and that the system components are properly cooled.
12.1Notes on power cabling
Due to the high power requirements of the BX600 S3 blade server, you must be careful when arranging the power cabling. Be sure to take into account local conditions such as mains voltage and UPS solution.
The configuration examples below illustrate different power cabling options for a BX600 S3 basic unit fitted with four power supply units.
Single basic unit with a single phase input
Phase 1
Figure 70: Basic unit with a single phase input
This is the simplest of the configuration options. All 4 power supply units are connected to the same phase. This would require a single phase providing suffi- cient power.
This power cabling option does not provide phase redundancy and therefore is not recommended.
