4.4.2Instructions on Connecting and Disconnecting Cables
VCAUTION!
Make sure you read the documentation on the devices before connecting them.
Do not connect or disconnect data cables during a thunderstorm. When removing a cable, always hold it by the plug.
Connect and disconnect the cables in the order described below.
Connecting Cables
ÊTurn off all power and equipment switches.
ÊPull all power plugs out of grounded power sockets or CEE sockets.
ÊPlug all cables into the system and peripherals. Secure the data transmis- sion cable connections (e.g. nut retention).
ÊPlug all data communication cables into the utility sockets.
ÊPlug all power cables into the grounded power sockets or CEE sockets.
Disconnecting Cables
ÊTurn off all power and equipment switches.
ÊPull all power plugs out of grounded power sockets or CEE sockets.
ÊUnplug all data communication cables from the utility sockets.
ÊUndo the nut retention on the connector housings and pull the correspon- ding cables out of the basic unit and the peripherals.
