CHAPTER 17: MISCELLANEOUS COMMANDS

Event logs can be exported to a ftp or a tftp server on the network for further analysis. The

CLI command is used to facilitate the export of the event log

exportlog mode=<serialtftpftp> <ipaddress> file=<name> doctype=<rawhtml>

Where mode is the mode of transfer, ipaddress is the IP address of the ftp or TFTP server, file is the filename, and doctype indicates the log is saved as a text file (raw) or as an HTML file.

Please ensure the proper extension is used for the file argument (for example, “html” for an HTML file).

ML1200# exportlog mode=tftp 192.168.5.2 file=eventlog doctype=html

Do you wish to export the event logs? [ 'Y' or 'N'] Y

Successfully uploaded the event log file.

17.7.3 EnerVista Example

The EnerVista Secure Web Management software provides and overview of the type of

Logs by reviewing the statistics. Each specific log can be viewed by viewing the logs menu.

To view the log statistics,

ZSelect the Configuration > Statistics > Log Statistics menu item.

The Log Statistics window displays the logged events received – most logs are typically informational and activity.

The log buffer size can be controlled through this menu.
