Querier

Description

Enable or disable the IGMP snooping querier function.

On an IP multicast network that runs IGMP, a Layer 3 device acts as an IGMP querier to send IGMP queries and establish and maintain multicast forwarding entries, ensuring correct multicast traffic forwarding at the network layer.

On a network without Layer 3 multicast devices, IGMP querier cannot work because a Layer 2 device does not support IGMP. To address this issue, you can enable IGMP snooping querier on a Layer 2 device so that the device can generate and maintain multicast forwarding entries at the data link layer, providing IGMP querier functions.
