3.Pivot the drive bay latch handle toward the front of the computer and pivot the drive bay cage upward, as shown, until it is latched in the up position.

4.Install the drive into the bay. Align the screw holes and insert the two screws.

5.Each integrated drive electronics (IDE) drive requires two cables; a four-wire power cable that connects to the power supply, and a signal cable that connects to the system board.

6.Pivot the drive bay cage back into place.

Types 8305, 8306, 8309, and 8313

To install an internal drive, follow these steps.

1.Remove the cover. See “Types 8305, 8306, 8309, and 8313” on page 40.

2.If your computer has a CD drive or DVD drive, you might need to remove the signal and power cables from the drive.

3.If the drive you installed is a removable-media drive, remove the bay panel from the front bezel.
